As part of the Institute of Economic Affairs’ commitment to deepen and consolidate democracy in Ghana, the IEA has developed the Manifesto Score Cards ahead of the 2016 elections. This card highlights 5 significant manifesto promises of each of the four political parties in Parliament.


Presidential Debates Brochure (2016)

The IEA 2016 Presidential Town Hall brochure provided attendees with vital information pertaining to the debates. This document includes an in-depth overview of Ghana’s political parties and their 2016 presidential and vice-presidential candidates, the Elections management body (Electoral Commission), as well as the nation’s political history and the state of its economy, government and democracy.

 


Presidential Debate Transcript, Accra (2016)

This publication provides a transcript of the presentation and responses of the candidates at the 2016 IEA Presidential Town Hall Debate held on 22nd November 2016 in Accra. The issues and questions that were debated include economic development, private sector development, and industrialization. The publication recognizes that the commitments made by the candidates at the Debate constitute a contract they made with the Ghanaian people in exchange for their support. It is our hope that the terms of this contract are not readily forgotten, and that the public continues to understand the policy perspectives of the respective candidates.
