IEA Youth Capacity Building Initiative:  Developing the Youth for the Future

For many years, Ghanaian youth have been marginalized in most facets of national decision making.  Efforts to develop their skills and capacities, as well as harness their potential to analyse public policy and national development issues, have been minimal and without much commitment.

In line with its mission to entrench good governance and democracy in Ghana, the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) is seeking to build and develop the capacities of bright young Ghanaians in the areas of policy development and analysis. This initiative will run for 3 years and will involve weekend retreats, workshops and symposia. It is expected that the initiative will enhance the capacity of Ghanaian youth to effectively engage and contribute to public discourse on development issues.

Bright young Ghanaians with demonstrable leadership qualities aged between 23-35 years should apply. Applicants should have a minimum of a Masters Degree, strong analytical skills and be willing to dedicate time to the programme. To apply send a two page C.V. and a cover letter outlining why you should be considered for the programme. All applications should be sent to youthinitiative@ieagh.org by 13th May, 2016.  Shortlisted applicants would be taken through a rigorous interview session before final selection.
